Danilo Rea and Renato Sellani represent two different generations in comparison, but even though the two pianists exist thirty years later, they both share a passion for the great melodies of jazz, the Italian music for the swing more compelling.
Sellani has performed alongside personalities that have marked the history of the international jazz scene such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Hellen Merril, to name a few. Danilo Rea began playing the piano as a young man he saw on television Renato Sellani accompany the big solo. Renato Sellani, for its part, has always seen as a godson Rea more than a colleague, he is also capable of combining high-level melody and swing, precious and rare gift. In addition to talent and sensitivity of the two have in common also to have been the pianist, in later times, of Mina.

Renato Sellani
Born in Senigallia, comes into contact with young musicians like Piero Piccioni, Umberto Cesari. His first encounter with American jazz musicians is playing for a long time with trumpeter Bill Coleman. In 1954 he arrived in Milan, where he continued his work with guitarist Franco Cerri and later became part of the legendary quintet Low-Valdambini. Many musicians from overseas looking for him to play with him. They remember the tour with Lee Konitz in '58 (with whom he made a series of concerts in February '95), with Chet Baker (the most famous trumpet White Jazz) in 1960, '61, '68, '69 and '70. He has accompanied many singers, including Mina, Nicola Arigliano, Fred Bongusto, Lilian Terry, Renata Mauro, Helen Merrill, Ginger Rogers and Sarah Vaughan. Brecht for its plant in Turin, with Corrado Pani and directed by Aldo Trionfo, "Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett for the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, "The six characters" for the company Tino Buazzelli, "Have you ever tried hot water" for the company of Walter Chiari . The most recent music for companies Gianrico Germans, Renzo Montagnani, and for the musical "Gigi," for the company of Ernesto Calindri. Numerous television appearances including three years as a regular guest on the "Circle of 12" and "Tortuga" on RAI 3. It prefers to act within the modern jazz classic in small groups, trio or duo (for over 15 years in a duo with bassist Massimo Moriconi) or solo piano, as best suits a refined atmosphere and lyrics that mark. Recently, the Philology label chose to record a series of duets with some giants of the jazz world.
